Why I Love the Artists of the World

I love artistry. I love people who create and produce beautiful things. They see the world in a completely different way. Approaching the world looking for beautiful things, large or small, is one of my life philosophies. I tell nearly everyone I meet that actually. It’s a huge part of my personality and I see that in artists.

Their purpose in life is to create beauty. Sometimes that’s a heart-wrenching photograph of hurting people or a joyous painting or a beautiful short film… the list could go one forever. Their work comes in all shapes and sizes. Some of it traditional but most of it not. Street artists, stickers, dances, the way someone walks, designers, storytellers, extremely great cups of coffee and more fill this world with things to celebrate.

I love them. I love their work and their mission. That’s how I live my life and what I want to do. I want to create more beauty for the world. Beauty that inspires, challenges, and changes people’s hearts. I want to talk about beauty and reveal it. To tell everyone I meet of the beautiful, wondrous love I’ve received in Christ. Talk about the Great Creator who made a world full of masterpieces. Let them see the great changes and works He does in my life. I want to honor Him through skilled, well-made art. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” So, let’s fill this world with great works! We serve a creative, magnificent artist!

Today I want to celebrate the wonder in this world and the people who create more of it. I want to celebrate God and His creation. I challenge you to go out and worship the Lord through acts of artistry.

**Special Note: As you can tell I’m in the mood to celebrate today. Today I’m honored to be featured on stephaniemaywilson.com. I’m featured on a series called The Loveliest Things that celebrates the loveliest things we see in the world around us. Go check it out and maybe glance around at Stephanie’s work. She’s one of my favorites.
